Chester County was one of the first three counties created directly from Willam Penn on August 24th, 1682. Chester County has a stratigic location because situated between the city of Philadelphia and the Susquehanna River.

Chester County is crossed by the Lincoln Highway, that was the first road to “the West” and started in Philadelphia. The region was previously occupied by the Lenni Lenape indigenous people, in the seventeenth century was occupied by the British settlers. More recently the industrial areas of Chester County attracted immigrants from Europe and the South of the United States. Today Chester county is one of the fastest-growing counties in the Northeastern section of the United States.
